We help deaf children to learn to listen and talk.

Story

As many of you will know, our beautiful little daughter, Sophie, is profoundly deaf.  She has attended The Elizabeth Foundation (TEF) since January as they help on her journey to listen and to talk. Sophie had her cochlear implants switched on in June and the early signs are very positive as she is now clearly recognising sound. TEF will play a vital role in Sophie’s development in her pre-school years.

We feel so lucky to live so close to this unique & inspirational place and my fundraising is just a small token of our appreciation for the support we have for Sophie.

TEF is funded entirely by charitable donations. All the money raised will enable them to continue their amazing work with Sophie and all the other children that attend.

“The Elizabeth Foundation helps deaf babies and pre school children learn to listen and speak. We are there to support and inform families from the moment their child is diagnosed with any degree of hearing loss. This year over 80 babies, toddlers and pre-school children will attend specialist education programmes and get individual speech and language therapy”

About the charity

The Elizabeth Foundation is a Family Centre with baby, toddler and pre-school sessions for deaf children and their families. We follow the 'Multi Sensory Oral Approach', to develop speech, language and listening skills by using all of the child's senses in a natural, fun, child-centred environment.
