Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 25 September I shall be walking, climbing and stumbling up and down 25 miles across the 3 highest peaks in Yorkshire.
I have decided to raise money this year for the Sir Bobby Robson Cancer Trials Research Unit at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle in memory of a wonderful lady who worked at the Newcastle Commercial Centre. Lesley passed away in July this year and is sadly missed by her husband Jim, her son Nathan - aged 7, her family and all her very many friends both inside and outside the bank.
At the Research Unit (one of only 2 in the country) much tremendous work is being done in seeking a cure for cancer as well as researching and trialling new drugs to slow down the impact of this horrible disease. Unfortunately, the aggressive nature of Lesley's cancer meant a cure was not possible but hopefully the money raised in Lesley's name will help future sufferers.
