Story

Mr Gough one of our local Upper GI Consultants is doing a Triathlon in Brigg on the 27th September 2015. He hopes to raise in between 2-3 thousand pounds and would like to donate any money raised between a local and National charity.

The local Charity is run by the Trust's Upper GI Specialist Nursing team who run support meetings every 2-3 months in Grimsby and Scunthorpe. They also hold  weekly drop in session which offer emotional, practical and social support to patients and their families following new or previous diagnosis of Oesophageal, stomach, pancreatic and Unknown primary cancers.

The National Charity is the Oesophageal Patients Association which is run by patients who have experienced Oesophageal or Gastric difficulties. They prepare medically approved booklets and fact sheets on the problems which they can talk about first hand.
