So.......

Managed it.  Just.

 

Seventeen miles in and everything was going fine.  It looked like I might even beat lat year's time.  Then my left knee went (an injury that I had not had before......but one that I will surely mention again...) and the next nine miles were agony.

After a bit of road side physio from the brilliant St John's Ambulance people I managed to get  to the end by walking / limping very....very....slowly.

I went all a bit Steve Redgrave at the end (not the first time I've compared myself to an Olympic Gold Medalist) and said if I ever consider doing a marathon again then people have the right to shoot me.

Two days later....the legs better....the knee less swollen.......I think I might just do it again after all.
