Story
On 23 June 2018 over 250 people walked 30km in Scotland on behalf of The HALO Trust's 'Walk For Syria' campaign, raising over £65,000 and counting. This money will go toward providing risk education to children on the dangers posed by mines, unexploded ordnance and IEDs that contaminates so much of the country. Children are by far the most likely victims of explosive remnants of war, and education can prevent hundreds of casualties while the painstaking work of clearing these hazards takes place.
Being based in Somaliland with HALO and unable to go walking off for 30km due to our security measures, I've decided to get on the indoor rower and go for 30km on 26 June. Training has been pretty awful, insofar as I haven't done much and what I have done has been gross.
I'm setting up this page slightly later than planned as I thought for a while I wouldn't do it but my manager has pledged $350 if I go under 2.25. It's further than I've ever run before, let alone rowed, so please dig deep and donate some of your pennies, although preferably pounds. Your money will literally help to save lives.
