We Change Lives Through The Power Of Sport to Improve the lives of people in Leeds

Story

St Pauls Chambers Sports Law team
which consists of Mr Stephen Elphick and Mr Charlie Greenwood are participating
in the Jane Tomlinson Leeds 10K on the 9
th July 2017 along with fellow barrister Miss Sophie Mitchell and their clerks Matthew Taylor, Nicholas Dolan, Richard Wright and Daisy Duthie.

This is to raise money for the Leeds Rugby Foundation. Leeds Rhinos Foundation is the official charity of Leeds Rhinos. They deliver projects in the heart of the community by harnessing the power of sport to make a lasting, positive impact on individuals' lives. Leeds Rhinos' charity they have a unique opportunity to truly change lives through sport.

The Leeds Rhinos Foundation delivers a range of projects under its five principles of Education, Health, Sport, Art and Heritage. Sport is an engaging tool that allows our staff to work with a whole range of individuals, delivering important lifestyle messages to inspiring others to make positive changes to their own lives.

We work alongside primary and secondary schools, community clubs and run holiday rugby camps, rugby festivals, community days and health and education projects year round to engage with both children and adults from all over the community.

As more of a Rugby Union and a football fan I can see past the cross code loyalties and appreciate the good work that this charity does in the local community, likewise Richard Wright who is an avid bulls fan is putting his loyalties to one side for this fantastic organisation.

Matt as a professional drinker, occasional smoker and full time bike stuntman has stepped up his training this week in response to another near fatal but quite possibly visually hilarious bike accident, has decided to run to work each day. Richard is pounding the streets around Halifax and more shockingly, Nick has joined a Gym. Daisy the youngest and should be the fittest has informed us that the day before the run she will by carbing up in anticipation of a strong race by going top a party with her mates.

There is an underlying air of tension in the clerks room as to who will be the first clerk back. I’m not sure if the same can be said for the barristers but I’m sure that the nearer we get to race day their competitive nature will come to the fore.

If you can donate we would be very grateful and it will make the 6 miles that we are running all the more palatable.
