Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am fund raising for two very worth while charities:

Aspire Ryde - visit www.aspireryde.org.uk

and

The Bumble Bee Conservation Trust

I have always had a very soft spot for bees and like the rest of the world they need our help. I cannot help the world but I can help them. They help produce a third of our diet, they pollinate crops that directly form our food or indirectly by pollinating crops which feed our cattle, also the wild plants that grow across our countryside to feed our wildlife. In the last fifty years we have lost half of our bee species with only 25 remaining native species left and a number of these are under serious threat.

and

Aspire Ryde

They are a community project set up to develop services for people on the Isle of Wight. They hope to set up and manage projects and services that support local people of all generations.

Services will be extremely varied, including services to support children, young people, families, adults and older people. They look develop services where a gap in existing ones has been identified or where a fresh vision is needed within existing services. Their aim is to provide high quality and flexible support services for local people where and when they need it most. Their services aim to give individuals and communities the support they need to improve their quality of life and feel a part of a vibrant local community. To find out what they have to offer and to make a donation please visit www.aspireryde.org.uk. Thank you.

Please donate direct to Aspire Ryde via www.apireryde.org.uk or for The Bees through JustGiving which is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

About the charity

Bumblebees are in decline because of a loss of their habitats. Our landscape is changing, over 97% of the UK's grasslands have been lost in the past 70 years. We work to put much needed flowers back into the countryside to benefit our bumblebees and other wildlife.
