Dear Friends,

I really appreciate you taking the time out of your busy day to visit my JustGiving page and would simply ask for a few minutes of your time. Occasionally in life you somehow end up persuading yourself that a particular Sunday morning in April is not going to be spent slumped on the sofa recovering from the after effects of that extra Guinness the night before and would be better served doing something really worthwhile and special.

Whilst those of you who know me well would not automatically follow up the words 'Rob' and 'McCargow' with 'athletic', 'lithe', and 'graceful'... I would hope that the words 'resilient', 'competitive', and 'stubborn' would raise a knowing smile of recognition however. Well to bolster this lexicon of attributes I've decided that 'humanitarian', 'noble' and 'intrepid' have a pleasing ring to them and, against my better judgement, I will be partaking in the 2010 Virgin London Marathon!

I feel incredibly honoured to have been accepted on to the Whizz-Kidz team for this iconic event. Whizz-Kidz are a fantastic charity that give disabled children the freedom and independence to enjoy an active childhood by providing them with customised mobility equipment, wheelchair training, advice and life skills. Since being set up in 1990 they have transformed the lives of over 6,000 young people. As a new father I feel personally inspired to help make a difference and provide another family with a helping hand.
