Fundraising for Maggie's Centres
Story
Hello and thanks for visiting our McGrigors Margaritas fundraising page.
Alaina, Carol, Jill, Louise and Shirley (aka McGrigors Margaritas) are taking part in the Maggies Monster Bike and Hike Challenge on 1st May. You may well have deduced from the words "Monster" and "Challenge" that this is going to be more than a walk in the park! The event involves a 30 mile cycle from Fort William to Fort Augustus followed by either an 8 mile (bronze), 22 mile (silver) or 43 mile (gold) walk along the Great Glen Way finishing up in Inverness within 24 hours. We are aiming for the gold walk but, in true lawyer fashion, reserve our right to finish at the silver checkpoint if it all becomes too much for us! Please, please do dig deep into your pockets to help us raise money for a very worthwhile cause. Our team is hoping to raise £2,000 for the Maggies cancer charity and we assure you that all donations will be hugely welcomed. We appreciate you receive many requests to sponsor people so please don't feel obliged to sponsor us but if this is a cause you support and wish to donate to then please use the link below and we won't ask you for any further sponsorship during the rest of 2010!
We do appreciate your support with this challenge and really do want to raise as much as we can for the Maggies cancer charity. Maggie's Centres help people adjust to living with cancer. Its pioneering support programme has been developed for patients, their carers, family and friends. Each centre is located close to an NHS hospital and they have been designed carefully and imaginatively to make sure people feel at home.
