Iain and Rebecca (McWass Duo) are going to run together to raise money.  A half marathon might not seem that far to some but Iain refuses to do exercise over 1 hour 15mins and Rebecca is aiming for that elusive sub 2 hour mark.  Something she has been trying for over 3 years and has only managed to get close to twice before.  

We were asked at the last minute to run it to raise money for Andean Medical Mission who treat sight loss in Bolivia in the Amazon.

Many of the people they treat have cataracts or tumours that are easily treatable here in the UK but in Bolivia this means the difference between being able to work and live or just survive. 

The charity offers free surgery and has operated on over 850 patients so far including babies, children and adults. 

They have also screened 8000 people to check for early signs of eye conditions. 

Rebecca has a corneal dystrophy and was operated on two years ago. She had been suffering with extreme pain, migraines, and blindness in her eye.  With help from our wonderful NHS she has less pain now and the ability to see more than she could before. 

Being able to run to help someone else that doesn't have an NHS would mean the world to her.  Also she has to put up with Iain for 2 hours telling her to keep running.  He might come out with a black eye ;)
