Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

As you know Meat Loaf will reach his 72nd birthday on the 27th September to mark this day and to thank him for all he gives to us we are raising funds for The Painted Turtle one of his favourite charities. We are doing this because Meat would rather give than receive.

When asked recently about his up coming birthday he said he would be 25 this year which fair play to our guy, the fight and determination he has shown over the last couple of years he would give any 25 year old a run for their money. He has proven time and time again what can be overcome if you have vision for the future and a goal to reach.

We are here to have some fun celebrate a special day and show our love for Meat with a Name the Song quiz and also to leave a personal message which will be transcribed into a birthday card and posted to Meat Loaf in time for his big day. There are some really nice prizes to be won 8 in total all donated by the Mad About Meat Loaf admin team, more details of these will be posted in the group. We are asking for a £2 donation by the 20th September to have your message in his card and to be included in the quiz which is all about Meats music so join in have fun and raise some funding for a great cause.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

About the charity

At The Painted, Turtle children with serious medical conditions celebrate just being kids! Through innovative, camp-based programs that offer a great big dose of fun and support, children with more than 70 medical conditions visit The Painted Turtle each year, reclaiming the joys of childhood. A member of Paul Newman’s renowned SeriousFun Camps (formerly the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps), The Painted Turtle has served over 51,000 children and their families through its Summer and Family Weekend camps since it opened its gates in 2004. There is no billing department at The Painted Turtle—campers and their families attend free of charge. And there’s no limit to the amount of laughter campers take home with them either!
