Story
We are a group of Foundation Degree Sports Coaching students from Nottingham College / Trent Univeristy who are completing a series of fundraising events and challenges for charity. The final challenge is for 2 of the group, Megan and Carl, to run the London Marathon 2019.
Megan said: ”In April 2019, me and Carl will be completing the London Marathon. As well as this being a challenge that we’ve wanted to complete, we are going to be raising money for the fantastic charity that is My Action For Kids, please see the link to read the great work that this charity does for disabled children and young people. https://www.my-afk.org/ ”
My AFK is a small national charity, working with disabled children, young people and their families. They work hard to remove the barriers to independence faced by so many young disabled people by providing specialist mobility equipment, real work experience and essential life skills training.
Things that your donations could help towards:
• £10 could buy an art set for an Art Therapy session
• £70 could enable a young disabled student to do half a days work experience
• £200 could buy a life-long battery for a powered wheelchair
Any donation (however big or small) that could help us towards our goal would be greatly appreciated. We thank you in advance for any donations, and hope that we inspire many more to take a little time out and do some fundraising of their own for such a brilliant and needed cause!
