Story
The GNR was always on our bucket list whilst at uni, so what better time to do it than in our 4th and final year we thought…. 1 year and a pandemic later and it is finally time to run the 21km route around the Toon. Whilst Liam has always been a keen runner, lockdown’s ‘run 5km and nominate 5 friends’ was a push for Meg…so a half marathon is definitely a huge challenge!! We would be so grateful for any donations to spur us on and to support NETA, a charity that supported so many of Meg’s patients whilst on placements in Newcastle.
The North East Trust for Aphasia (NETA) is a charity which aims to support people and their families in the North East who have aphasia.
Aphasia is a communication impairment that can occur after a brain injury, such as a stroke, which can impact speaking, understanding, reading, writing and daily life.
If anyone is in NCL on the 12th of September and fancies a laugh at our tomato faces, please come to cheer us on! Our start time is 12:15, eeek!
Thanks in advance!!
Meg and Liam xx
