Story
It's time to put myself out of my comfort zone and what better than doing it for charity.
I do not like heights however if me making myself feel a little bit scared for a few minutes helps raise money to support families who are going through the scariest and most stressful time in their lives while their premature or sick baby is on the Neonatal Unit then I reckon it will be worth it.
As a midwife I have had the privilege of being at many births and was able to share in the joy and excitement that women and their partners expressed at becoming parents.
To support parents when they know that their baby was going to be poorly and require intensive care and support from the wonderful team on the Neonatal Unit was always an emotional eye opening time and a learning experience in how to face challenges and adversity head on while trying to remain positive and optimistic. The courage, strength, resilience, trust and love that these families display when, at times, the odds are stacked against them was inspiring.
I hate asking people to sponsor me but I am thinking that it's not sponsoring me but rather an opportunity to pay it forward by helping others. I would be grateful for any amount you could spare.
I know my girl will be proud of her old mum and will be with me every step of the way. I am doing this for us both Puds xxxx
