Story
Finally thin enough to start running again and so excited to accept my deferred place for the 2024 Virgin Money London Marathon to change the lives of people affected by sarcoma.
My wonderful, bubbly, head strong friend Alison died from sarcoma 5 years ago. She would hate me saying this but god she did fight it and she was still bossing everyone around in her last weeks :).
Alison always spoke so fondly of this charity and what they do for people suffering from this disease. It is a pretty rare cancer, but since I have started to spread the word, so many people I know have been affected, so I am running this for you too xx.
Alison was a wonderful, loyal, supportive friend and she knew exactly the right time to get the gin out. Even from her hospital bed ( when she broke her hip ) she was my rock when I was suffering from crippling depression and anxiety which made me so sad, I wanted to end my own life.
I started running the same year Alison died, up until Covid put a halt on our lives. I managed to get up to 18km, I don’t know how I did it but I know I can do it again. Running helped me love life again , it’s bloody hard but I can’t thank Alison enough for being my inspiration to get moving again. I love you Alison, even in death you still kick me up the arse!!! :)
Thank you to everyone who kindly donated back in 2020. I am resuming my fundraising pot and need to raise another £1200 to get to my £3000 target.
Please donate what you can ( life is tough at the mo) and support me to help us find better treatments, ensure people get the care they need, and fund expert information and support for anyone who needs it.
I will be running a couple of fundraising events next year, so watch this space.
