2009 was a tough year for me, having to go through the trauma of being diagnosed and treated with 2 types of cancer. It wasn't easy, but thankfully I'm now fully in remission and looking forward to a bright future. As I looked forwards I decided it would be great to tie my goal of getting fit before I become old in with raising some money for the wonderful people at the Christie.

I cannot praise the Christie enough - the staff helped me through a difficult time during my chemotherapy and their research and dedication means that treatment for cancer becomes more successful every day.

Given that I hate running with a passion, 10k is going to be a challenge - but it one that i am definitely up for. I may need a little while off work to recover afterwards though!
