On May 14th 2010 I lost my Mum suddenly at the tender age of 74 .

Mum had been suffering for many years with Tinnitus, which is the name given to noises in the ear and head. Tinnitus is not a desease or illness. The precise cause is still not fully understood. Experiences of Tinnitus are very common in all age groups. There is a widely held misconception that Tinnitus is confined to the elderly,but it can occur at any age. Tinnitus is common- about 10% of the Uk population have it permanently.

The British Tinnitus Association helps individuals with Tinnitus and the wider public understand more and requires funds for research and to support those suffering.
