Story
4 years ago our family discovered London Children's Ballet.
Robyn auditioned and was lucky enough to be offered a part in their production of "A Little Princess" dancing at The Peacock Theatre, Sadler's Wells, in April 2012. In 2013 she also danced in "The Secret Garden" which was equally as magical.
Both productions gave her the most wonderful experience dancing on a West End stage with 55 other dancers age 9-16 from all backgrounds and levels of dance experience.
Now it's Minnie's turn. She will dance this April in "Little Lord Fauntleroy" Exciting!
What's amazing about LCB though it that it's free. And it gives back to the community. It's not all about the excellence of the production week. It also runs ballet for a £1 performances for local schools, an LCB2 touring company that visits old peoples homes and hospitals and dance workshops for schools.
These are difficult times for arts organisations however and funding is scarce. Ballet is often perceived as elitist but the reality is that to survive, and to continue to be free, LCB relies on donations and support from everyone who plays a part.
Minnie is concentrating on her own fundraising plan and this is her page. I'm training to run the Reading Half Marathon on April 2nd to do my bit.
Please help where you can.
Thank you dear friends
Helena
