I am raising money for the Exeter Leukaemia Fund by doing a Skydive Tandem Parachute Jump from approx.5miles up! I hate heights! Please help me to raise money for this worthwhile cause. This would be a great achievement for me if I can get to take part in this - and an experience of a lifetime, but need to raise over £400 in order to take part!

ELF is a local charity working to relieve sickness amongst people suffering from leukaemia and related diseases in Devon and the surrounding areas. As many of you are aware I did originally train as a nurse at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital. Leukaemia is now one of Britain's fastest growing killer diseases. In the South West there has been an unprecedented surge in the number of cases of non Hodgkins Lymphoma - higher than anywhere else in the country. The ultimate vision is to try and make leukaemia history across the South West.

ELF sponsors research in areas of interest specific to the charity, especially to investigate the causes and treatments of leukaemia. They also sponsor students to undertake research as part of their studies by providing a bursary for those eligible. ELF provides support to both patients and their relatives. They do this holistically, aiming to care for patients' emotional and physical wellbeing whilst they are treated at the Haematology Centre. The charity purchases and maintains specialist equipment for the Centre. This ranges from everyday pieces that make patient's lives easier, like electric beds, to very specialised apparatus that enable the medical team to diagnose illness with greater efficiency.
