Join me on the first COMMUNITY WALK. On Sunday 17th of October, I'll be doing my 7th marathon around London and invite you to join. This is to celebrate the 3rd year of Only A Pavement Away! The day would include:
1. Join the walk either at mile 13 (half way point) or 20 (3/4 point)
2. We would ask for a suggested donation of £10 as part of your contribution
2. Yet to be confirmed, but there's likely to be a free beer at the finish line!

Food has always been close to my heart - cooking, finding new restaurants and creating recipes that light up my friends and families faced. Covid19 hit and food becoming an even bigger part of my lockdown experience. I noticed how it helped me connect to others, distracted those that were really struggling and kept me being creative.

Walking did the opposite. It helped me breath, reflect, disconnect from the world and stay humble. As restrictions lifted, I noticed both walking and cooking took a hit and 'normal' life hit. For a few weeks, I battled with trying to fit in a walk, source new ingredients and cook something 'challenging', in-between getting back into the gym, going into the office and meeting up with friends and I burnt out. So I found a balance. I've committed to a walk a month that gives me an entire day to 'be me', focus my thoughts, reflect and explore whilst raising money for an amazing charity I have recently had the pleasure of meeting who support people facing homelessness, prison leavers and veterans into careers within hospitality. It might not enhance my chances of becoming the next Nigella Lawson but it's my attempt in supporting the hospitality industry in keeping those restaurants open for us foodies to enjoy!

Thank you to everyone who donated throughout my journey so far, we've raised over £1000 but there's still more to be done to reach my goal of  £3,000 before the end of the year going to Only A Pavement Away!
