Fundraising for Emily's Star
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Our daughter Mollie was born 7 weeks prematurely at Bedford Hospital. When Julian and I were taken to the neonatal ward to meet her we were given a box from Emily’s Star. It was especially for a 4lb baby and contained all sorts of things such as tiny clothes for Mollie, tiny nappies, toiletries for Mollie and me. There were also knitted bonding squares that Mollie and I swapped daily. These were so special as the amount of time I could hold Mollie was very limited. We were so surprised and touched by the box, it made a difficult time that bit easier. We researched Emily’s Star and found donating the hundreds of boxes to local neonatal units was just one thing they do in memory of their daughter who sadly passed away. We vowed to give something back to them, so here goes... I will be running 5K at Emily’s Stars Fun Day on 25 August and then the Bedford Twilight 10KM on 1st September.
This will be a huge challenge, I’m not a runner in any way!! Mollies Daddy Julian, and our friend Clare will be joining us. If you can spare anything to sponsor us all and help the amazing work Emily’s Star do it would be greatly appreciated.
