We empower young people to change their lives through the arts

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

If you know me even just a little bit, you will know that I am not the running type... I am more the gentle yoga, no sweat type! But throughout the years theatre has put me out of my comfort zone many times and made me do some crazy stuff... so here we are once again, all in the name of art and young people.

Contacting the World is a pioneering international theatre exchange project that brings young people from around the globe together in the pursuit of making theatre. It creates mutual understanding and respect between young people from different backgrounds while producing new performance work.

The Festival started in 2002 at the Contact Theatre in Manchester, the brainchild of the late playwright, teacher, actor and director Noel Greig. Now, more than 12 years later companies from India, UK, Jamaica, Scotland and Iran will come together in July to celebrate this much loved Festival, but we need YOUR help. Funding in the arts have been decreasing every year and we need to host all the young people in a safe environment during the festival, feed them healthily, provide help with their travel, etc. Every little contribution will be much appreciated!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity. And if you are UK taxpayer remember to add gift aid!

Thank you once again... and wish my poor little feet good luck!
