Story
The University of Cumbria would like to invite you to join our Inaugural Morecambe Bay Charity Walk in support of our Bright Futures Fund and Dementia UK. The walk is approximately 9 miles in length and will be led by University Honorary Fellow, Cedric Robinson MBE “The Queen’s Guide to the Sands”.
We would also like to invite you to raise your own sponsorship for the event, there is no minimum, with all money gratefully received and every penny split between Dementia UK and The University of Cumbria Bright Futures Fund.
The University of Cumbria’s Bright Futures Fund enables support to be offered to students undertaking internships or work experience relevant to their future careers and that will enhance their employability prospects. The fund also supports scholarships, bursaries and research projects.
Dementia UK is a national charity committed to providing the best support to those affected by dementia. We provide Admiral Nurses, specialist dementia nurses who give expert, practical and emotional care and support for family carers, as well as the person with dementia. Providing families with an understanding of dementia and give them the tools and skills to deal with challenges effectively, these nurses provide psychological support to help family carers to carry on caring for their family member.
