Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In Autumn 2014 we found out that James, our 4 year old son, has a bilateral hearing loss - he's moderately deaf, which is permanent. We will find out over time whether it will deteriorate, but sadly it can't get any better.

At the time he was having his hearing aids fitted, our audiologist recommended we register with the National Deaf Children's Society, who might be able to help support James and our family.

The NDCS do such fantastic work for children like James and families like ours all over the country, and they do it almost entirely by donations from the public and fundraising initiatives. My wife and I would, with your help, like to help other children and families through the work of NDCS by raising the vital funds that they need to make this happen.

I gave up being a professional violinist some 10 years ago - it's going to take some serious work to get my playing back to the standard it needs to be to join with my wife Alexandra to put on a special evening of music in our local community. We have put together a string orchestra for the evening comprising members of several International Orchestras, soloists and a Conductor - all close personal friends, with Vivaldi's Four Seasons and Double Trumpet Concerto the centre pieces of the evenings music making, to do what we can to raise much needed funds for NDCS.

The concert is at Whitworth Riverside on Monday 6th July 2015 at 7.30, tickets available from the venue or through me at northernlightmusic@virginmedia.com  Adults priced £10 and children £5. We're hoping for an audience of 300, but it may be that you can't be there. Our flyer for the concert can be found here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/3y4p2ahkujfskpy/AABg7bImscLk_h7_WQAkli_oa?dl=0

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

All profits from the concert will of course go directly to NDCS, along with all  donations here.

Thank you so much for supporting our efforts in putting an evening like this together.
