Story
On 23 April I will be running a marathon! Unfortunately I’m 15years and 15lbs past my running best (!) and have never attempted to run this far! …
… But I’m putting in the miles to support a brilliant small charity; The British Polio Fellowship (BPF)
The charity helps people in the UK living with the late effects of Polio. Whilst Polio has been eradicated in the UK, there remains a generation of survivors who live with its effects; like my Dad.
My Dad has lived his life in a wheelchair after contracting Polio age 6 when treatment involved an iron lung. I urge you to read more about his experience with Polio here;

My Dad has led a full life but, as he’s got older, he has found some old symptoms returning. He’s not alone. His condition is known as Post Polio Syndrome, and there are over 120,000 people in the UK living with the late effects of polio.
The BPF connects these survivors, providing specialist support that enables them to live independent lives. The BPF is a small organisation where every £ of funding makes a big difference.
Any donations I raise will go directly to the BPF (I have personally covered the cost of my marathon place) so if you can spare a small amount it could have a brilliant impact.
Morven xx
P.S Rest assured this is a one-and-only ask for Marathon sponsorship. Turns out marathon training is really hard … and I’m never doing it again (!)
