We help families find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them

Story

Well we did indeed get through to the final with the third fastest time of the day!  Unfortunately the excitement then got the better of us, we lost our paddling rhythm.  However, coming third out of fifteen teams was a great accomplishment for National Grid's first dragon boat team, and we'll be back next year!

A team of sixteen people from National Grid took part in the Dragon Boat Racing Festival in Myton Park, Warwick on Sunday 23rd May in support of the CLIC Sargent charity.  The charity provides support for children with cancer and their familes (http://www.clicsargent.org.uk/Home).  We took part in three heats, each 250m long, and then the final, and were dressed as pirates to boot!  Please keep sponsoring us!

More details on the day can be found here:  http://www.funraisers.org.uk/general_mainlayout.asp?PageID=125&EventID=16

At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you. Visit www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk
