Story
Hello,
My name is Yuksel and I will be running the New York City Marathon on Sunday 5th November 2023.😄
This will be my fourth marathon and I will be raising money for Angelman UK.
For 2022 I was fortunate to raise £2,030 for Angelman UK. Due to the cost of living crisis, I am being more considerate with aim of raising £800.
Angelman Syndrome affects a friend of mine who had his child diagnosed with it.
So what is it?
Angelman Syndrome (AS) is a rare neurological disorder affecting around 1:20,000 births. Characteristic features include delayed development, severe learning difficulties, little or no speech and issues with movement and balance. Although those affected have a normal life expectancy, they will require support throughout their lives.
Angelman UK carries out vital work, including…
• Providing information and support to families that recently had their child diagnosed.
• A biennial national conference for families and experts to meet and share new developments and experience stories.
• Invest in potential therapies that will help ease living with the syndrome.
I’m reaching out to you today to ask for your support. Any amount you can afford to donate will mean the world to me, and 100% of your donation will go towards helping Angelman UK carry out their vital work.
Thank you in advance for helping me change lives through Angelman UK.
