Hi Everyone, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  I am delighted to say i actually did it, i completed the 26.2 miles in the 2010 Virgin London Marathon in 4 hours and 58 minutes, for Macmillan Cancer  Support, a charity close to my heart and my work! 

 Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer, it provides nurses like me with the training opportunities and support they need to provide practical, medical and emotional support for children, adults and families affected by cancer. 

I have now completed my first ever (and possibly not my last) marathon , the training was hard, especially the blisters and shin splints but Wow what a fantastic day, the crowd was amazing!  Most of us have lost someone we love to cancer, I see on a daily basis what a devastating affect it has on peoples lives and charities like Macmillan really do help make a difference, this was my way of thanking them for funding the courses I need in order to do my job, it is a tribute to all the fantastic children and families that I have worked with and will work with in the future and to all of us who have lost someone we love to cancer.
