Story
In June/July I am lucky enough to be going on a month-long solo placement to the Marine Megafauna Foundation (MMF) in Tofo Beach, Mozambique.
MMF work with the likes of whale sharks, manta rays and sea turtles. They have been featured in BBC, National Geographic & Netflix documentaries such as Blue Planet, and are at the forefront of scientific research, recently being recognised by Mission Blue in declaring Mozambique as a "Hope Spot".
The mission of the Marine Megafauna Foundation is to save threatened marine life using pioneering research, education, and sustainable conservation solutions, working towards a world where marine life and humans thrive together. Tackling destructive fishing practices, eliminating ocean plastics and combating climate change. To achieve their mission and bring their vision to life, MMF look at the problem holistically, working to inspire, research, educate and protect.
My role is to bring my skill set, experience and fresh perspective (fingers crossed) to work with the management team of MMF. To develop a business strategy that will help them innovate and scale up their tourism revenue source (“MEGA Expeditions”) in a sustainable way, turning it into a full-fledged global operation.
If you are interesting in contributing that would be amazing! 100% of all donations will go directly to MMF, I will then advise them of the most impactful way to spend the money in developing their business strategy.
