On 31st October my dad fell from a height when at work.  He was helped by both the local paramedics and air ambulance NI.  The speed at which the air ambulance were able to transport him to the hospital most definately helped to both save his life and aid his future recovery process.  It costs £5500 a day to keep the air ambulance operational.  The medical staff are provided by other funding.  The charity itself helps to store the helicopter, provide fuel, pay for maintenance, insurance etc.
