Story
Dear friends, family,
Thank you for finding your way here.
We are going on a mountain journey inspired by a man called Leon. Leon is clearly crazy as the route is:
300km loop around Mont Blanc with 25,000m of climbing.
This has to be completed within a week (152 Hrs) self-supported. The route often goes over high passes and off marked trails which is why GPS is mandatory as well as a good understanding of the mountain environment. We are doing this as a team to raise money for “Wings For Life” a charity whose aim is to fund research into finding a cure for spinal cord injury. We hope by doing this we can help them get a little closer to finding a cure.
We have both been touched by spinal cord injury in our lives. In 2009 Nick broke his L1 vertebra in a riding accident and has been an ambassador for the charity ever since. Anthony’s father is a tetraplegic having had a ski accident in Verbier 25 years ago. Therefore, this is an issue close to both our hearts.
Fundraising aside, Nick will be turning 40 which made it another reason for him to dust off his trail running shoes and mark this special anniversary.
We really appreciate any help you feel able to give. PTL is a monster challenge and your donations will help give us the motivation we need to persevere when the going gets tough.
Thank you,
Nick & Anthony
