Story

Text MMIL69 to 70070 to donate!

I'm a consultant in Intensive Care Medicine at SWBH NHS Trust and I'm fortunate to work with the fantastic team in Critical Care who look after the sickest patients from a very deprived area.

I am raising funds for the SWBH Charity and for the Critical Care Trust Fund to help support the staff who work incredibly hard to save our patients.

This year I will be completing:

Warwick Half Marathon: 13.1 miles

Staffordshire Ironman 70.3: 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride followed by a 13.1 mile run!

Velo Birmingham: 100 miles

I know we all get bombarded with requests to support charities but:

This is a very worthy cause and you money will make a big difference. Any one of these events is hard at my age - but imagine what it's like having to run 13 miles just after you've cycled for 56! Please spare whatever you can... many thanks for your support!

The SWBH Charity...

We work to add value to the patient experience in Sandwell and West Birmingham. In partnership with a range of community stakeholders, we raise vital funds to ensure the best clinical and patient service provision possible for children and adults alike. Our mission is: “To enhance the experience of all people using our services including staff, patients and their families. We will do this by providing additional facilities and supporting innovative projects that create a comfortable and secure environment.”

About the charity

We support Sandwell, City and Rowley Regis Hospitals as well specialist services such as the Birmingham Midland Eye Centre and the Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Centre. The money you raise is used to enhance existing service provision to provide a first class experience for our patients.
