LANDS END TO JOHN O'GROATS CYCLE - raising funds for Dorothy House

Turning 50 has accelerated my mid-life crisis and a need to cross a few items off the bucket-list. Plus I've been searching for a good cause to support, invest my time and make a difference. And so for 2022 I've decided to combine the two and try and raise money for Dorothy House Hospice via a once-in-a-lifetime physical challenge. 

Every life is special.... and we all want the very best for our loved ones at the end of their journey.  Dorothy House ensures that everyone in the community with a life-limiting illness can live well, and die well.  It's inspiring work, delivered with endless reserves of care and compassion. 

I've set myself the goal of cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats, and to raise >£5k in donations in the process.  I plan to do the ride from 2-17 July 2022 - with maximum daylight and hopefully a tail-wind all the way!  My chosen scenic route can be found in the book 'LEJOG - A Safer Way' by Royston Wood - It takes in endless hills (!!), spectacular scenery, avoids A-roads and heavy traffic, and is 957 miles end-to-end. With a few detours to catch up with old friends along the way, I think we'll just exceed 1,000 miles in the saddle... Phew!
