Story
Updated 31st March 2010. Thanks to all who have donated so far, so good in fact that I have raised my target to £1,000, which is going to cost me £100, but all worth it - please keep up with the donations and thanks again.
On the 18th April 2010 I will be running the marathon in aid of the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity. As I am sure you will know, Helen was a much-loved BBC Sport presenter who fought her battle with cancer in the public eye.
After nearly 30 years of on and off running, I have finally decided to go that extra mile (or 25) and run a full marathon. Well, the time is almost here, and I would be highly appreciative if you could dig deep and give to what is a fantastic charity. As an added incentive, for each £100 that you donate, I will add a further £10, so hopefully not only will I be hurting in my feet, legs, back and everything else, but also in my wallet. Go on, you know it makes sense.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
