This September I am taking on The Gherkin Challenge for the NSPCC, which unfortunately isn't an eating contest. On a Sunday afternoon I'll be climbing all 51 floors (1039 steps) of one of London's major landmarks.

This makes a change from my usual, more horizontal 10k runs, given that it's a whole lot more vertical!

I don't need to tell you how important the NSPCC is. There's no need to drag out a "children are our future" cliché here!
