Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Like most arts venues, my local theatre, the Kiln, has had to close during the Coronavirus crisis, and has suffered financially as a result. I am a proud supporter of Kiln Theatre and the work it does in my local community, and I want to see exciting productions there again as soon as possible.
So, to raise much-needed funds for this great community theatre, and to counteract some of the poundage I have piled on in lock-down, I have set myself the goal of rowing 110km before the end of August. This is equivalent to the entire length of the Tidal Thames - from Teddington Lock right through the centre of London to the Thames Estuary and the North Sea.
I won't actually be on the river - this will be a virtual row on my trusty Concept II indoor rower. And to make it even more of a challenge, I've decided to complete the total distance by rowing three half marathons and one full marathon. I've only ever rowed one half marathon before and it practically broke me, so this is uncharted territory...
My employer, Moore Kingston Smith, the UK's leading theatre accountants, has very generously agreed to match-fund anything I raise in sponsorship up to a maximum of £500, so I'm hoping to raise at least £1,000 for Kiln Theatre (more if you include gift aid).
If, like me, the thing you have missed most in lockdown is theatre and live entertainment, please do consider sponsoring me in my epic rowing challenge. My burning glutes and quads thank you in advance!
