Event: GOSHCC - Michael Page Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge, on 12 June 2010
We help the hospital offer a better future to seriously ill children across the UK

Story

When I decided to undertake the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, a lot of people were suprised. The majority of my walking is being done between either my house and the car or from my car park into work! However after a team trip to Great Ormond Street Hospital in December, I was amazed by the amount of money they need to raise each year just to keep the hospital running. This has inspired me to undertake the Michael Page Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on June 12th 2010, and unlike the infamous Great North Run attempt in 2007, I will be doing some preparation!

I will be supporting our charity partner of the year, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC). Great Ormond Street Hospital was founded in 1852 and is one of the world's leading Children's hospitals. It receives more than 200,000 patient visits every year from children all over the world. For many of the children treated at the hospital it's their last hope.

GOSCHH faces a mountainous task of raising £50million every year to support this vital work. Michael Page is looking to do its bit and to provide enough funds for a new adolescent's recreation room.

I've got another peak to climb - my fundraising target! Beyond that lies the challenge itself - the Yorkshire Three Peaks - Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. An arduous 25mile hike that takes in 5000 feet of climbing - and all in under 12 hours. Our Michael Page team will raise a minimum of £30,000.
