My Campaign to End Loneliness in the Elderly

Back in June this year, I signed up to Independent Age to donate an hour of my week to visit a senior suffering with loneliness and since then, I have been given the opportunity to fundraise for this amazing charity by taking part in a trek along the Great Wall of China.

In our communities today, we see that the ageing population can sometimes be forgotten about, many seniors spend hours alone and do not have family around to support/care for them and they can spend days without speaking to anyone. Loneliness is not a feeling that anyone should experience.

Independent Age help provide, support, care and advise for the older aged. They also provide a befriending service either via the phone or face to face, for some this would be the highlight of their day, making a  dramatic difference and improve their quality of life significantly. 

In order to reach my target, I will be organising several events over the coming months. These include; film nights, pub quizzes and the sale of my own hand crafted soap! :) If you would be interested in finding out more, please message me to get involved!
