Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I was diagnosed with Mucosal Melanoma in September 2016 which is a rare and aggressive type of cancer and not many people survive this disease. Cancer awareness needs to be shared across the world on how this affects people and their families and close ones. Mucosal Melanoma is a cruel, silent disease which can happen to anybody at any time of their life.
I had surgery to remove the tumour on my face in October 2016 at Charing Cross hospital followed by radiotherapy at Mount Vernon hospital. I was very fortunate to be given a new type of treatment called Immunotherapy which has kept me stable and well.I have since changed my life style and diet after doing a lot of research on how to fight cancer. I have lost 4 stones (25 kgs) in weight by changing my eating habits and doing a lot of praying! I am still here today and back at work after being given 3 months to live in Sept 2016. I really do believe that once you get past the trauma of being diagnosed with having cancer, you can heal yourself by changing your lifestyle and a lot of positive thinking. With the support from my family and friends I am here today to talk to you about my illness.
I would like to thank my consultant Paul Nathan, Peter Clarke, and all the staff at Charing Cross hospital and Mount Vernon hospital for their continued hard work and dedication to their patients. Without them we wouldn't be here today. I have decided to raise funds for this great cause by doing 60000 steps and would be very grateful if you can support me in any way you can – every penny makes a difference.
Thank you
