Guide Dogs October Anniversary Appeal 2020
Every year Guide Dogs celebrate their charity’s history and achievements on the anniversary of the first four UK Guide Dog partnerships, by fundraising together as a Guide Dog family.
But as anyone who has had a birthday or anniversary since March knows, celebrating during a global pandemic isn’t quite the same as normal and our 89th anniversary celebrations are no different.
Norwich Guide Dog Forum are Fundraising to mark the occasion by Naming A Norfolk Guide Dog Puppy. It would be a great achievement to reach the £5000 target and have a Guide Dog Puppy chosen by the public to celebrate Guide Dogs 90th Anniversary next year. Norfolk could follow the progress of its Guide Dog Puppy following the journey to becoming a life changing Guide Dog. Please Donate to make a difference to the life of someone living with sight loss.
Forum Coordinator Scott Vallance, who is supported by his guide dog Benji, said: “Many of the forum members are guide dog owners and know just what an amazing difference a guide dog, and other services run by Guide Dogs, make to people who are visually impaired. Norwich Guide Dog Forum is run by four visually impaired volunteers all Guide Dog owners.
Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives. Guide Dogs works for a world where people with sight loss are never left out of life, for a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you. A world with enough support to make the challenges of sight loss no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams.
