Story

So it's the end of March, it's raining and I running across barrage, when the twang occurs. The following day at the doctors, I prepare for the usual questions, How's your diet? Get much exercise? Drink much? Do you smoke?  I wasn’t really prepared for "I want you to stop ALL exercise for the next 8 weeks, you're right knee is a mess!”  Bugger!! Obviously wasn't expecting that little beauty.

So there we go, I leave the doctors in tatters. 6 months of light training & preparation followed by 12 intensive weeks in preparation for my 70.3 Ironman had come crashing to halt...............Obviously this page confirms I ignored him! Not completely though. Okay, that's a lie, but only a small one.

Training has been limited to swimming with just my arms, riding in the lowest of gears and no running. Not a single stride.  And, on Sunday at 7am: myself, several pro's, the former world champion and 3,000 others go head to head in . What awaits us is 1.2 mile swim followed by 56 miles on the bike and then 13.1 miles worth of running (This part could be a real problem).

Couple of minor facts:

During my 56 miles of riding, I will climb 3 mountains totalling a distance of 9 miles, one of which will take me over 2,000 feet. The same height

Sky divers don’t open parachutes at 2,000 feet, they keep falling!

And the best one, the last Ironman race was held a couple weeks ago in China and 29% didn't finish!!

Whilst I'm here pleading for sponsorship, please don't sponsor me based on completion time. Even without an injury, this is one of the hardest one day endurance events in the world. Just sponsor me for trying, and I will give it my all.
