Story
Dear All,
Thank you for taking the time to visit my just giving page!
As you might know, I will be running the London Marathon on the 25th of April 2010. It's not going to be an easy task, and I have a lot of training and hard work ahead of me! For those of you who dont know, the London Marathon covers 42km (that's 26 miles)!! So I will be replacing nights out partying with long sessions in the gym and running outdoors! AND I have to learn how to cook! (As training for the marathon means I will no longer be able to survive on my usual diet of cuppa soups and chocolate bars!) For all of you who know me well, you will realize how much I love going out and how much I hate cooking! So all in all it's a really big challenge for me, but I am looking forward to it and have started my training already!
On a more serious note, the charity I will be running for is the British Heart Foundation. For more information on the work they do please visit their website: www.bhf.org.uk. Money raised through my fundraising will go towards medical research that covers everything from the causes of heart disease, finding safer drugs to treat it and improving surgical techniques. This charity also offers support for people living with heart disease, for example by providing funding for specialist nurses. The charity also do a lot of work to educate people on how to keep their heart healthy and thus reduce their risk of heart disease. Heart disease is something than can affect anyone of any age. In the UK, more people die of heart disease than any other illness, which it is why the work that they do is so important.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. I have pledged to raise £2000, which is a lot of money, but I am sure with everyone's support I can meet my target!
Anyone out and about in the London area on April 25 is more than welcome to come a long and cheer me on on the day!
