As you may be aware one of our best friends Edward Lundy tragically took his own life in August last year. For those of you who didn’t have the pleasure of knowing him he was and will remain to be one of the best guys you’d ever meet, someone who you instantly get along with and someone with whom you’re bound to have a laugh. For those of us who did know him, well he needs no introduction! He’ll never ever be forgotten and has left a huge hole in everyones life which will be very difficult to fill.
Ed was battling depression for a while before he left us. Many people didn’t know what Ed was having to endure as he tried to deal with it by himself. Most of us are lucky enough to not know how horrific depression can be but we all can understand and appreciate how much easier it could be with help. The Charlie Waller Memorial Trust aims to break down the stigma surrounding depression. It helps young people talk about and look after their mental wellbeing as well as educating them on the early signs of depression. This charity is doing great work and is something we think every young person should be educated on as it can make a huge difference.
A big group of us, all Blundellians, all close friends, are taking part in the Nuts Challenge 2017, it is an 15km obstacle run in Dorking, Guildford. We want to raise money for this charity that is close to all our hearts, in memory of an absolute hero, and our dearest friend, Edward Lundy. Please donate and help the cause. Thank you!
