We work in developing communities to tackle the root causes of poverty

Story

The people of Pakistan are now facing the largest humanitarian crisis in their history. The floods are affecting even more people than the Boxing Day Tsunami and Haiti earthquake combined. 9 million children have now been affected - that's more than the entire population of Greater London.

The floods have destroyed homes‚ schools and crops leaving millions of children with no shelter or food. The stagnating water and sweltering temperatures are also creating perfect conditions for the spread of life-threatening diseases including malaria, acute diarrhoea and cholera.

Muslim Hands has been present on the ground for widely publicised disasters such as the Asian Tsunami of 2004, the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the Horn of Africa Famine of 2006. But we've also been present at crises that never reach our screens, including sub-zero winters in Kashmir, cholera outbreaks in Guinea Buissau and acute droughts in Mali and Niger.

So we thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
