The Three Peaks of Yorkshire challenge
involves completing a 26 mile route through the Dales, scaling a total of 1600m
of vertical ascent. According to our impartial resident endurance expert, this
makes it harder than the Everest marathon. Of course, we are walking rather
than running it, but the time to beat is 12 hours, and in the treacherous
environs of the Yorkshire Dales, it is a quest only for the lion hearted.
Despite the carefully cultivated insouciance of the intrepid walkers, this is
going to be a real challenge for many of us, and not just because of the 5am
start.
Our target charity is CLIC Sargent. Every
day 10 families are told that their child has cancer. As the children’s cancer
charity, CLIC Sargent is there with clinical, practical and emotional support
throughout the painful process of treatment. Your donations will help pay for
specialist nurses, peer support, counselling, cancer holidays, and financial
support for children and families in need.
Please donate generously to this worthy cause.
