Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Nov 2009 : Can't believe I'm doing this, but our charity (for which I am Chairman), was given two passes for the London Marathon and at a recent trustees meeting it was a matter of finding 2 'mugs' to do it - and I was elected! I have only recently started the slog and frankly it's only going to be trying to reach my financial target that will keep me going, so any help on that front would be hugely welcomed.
Jan 2010: This was always going to be a bit of an uphill battle because of old sports injuries, particularly a knackered knee and back, but through modern technology and some experts, training continues and now up to 13 miles. Sadly, only half way though! Much more monotony and pain to endure yet and every little donation will help.
Feb 2010: The short runs are certainly getting easier but the weekend ones are horrendous. Off out tomorrow for an attempted 16+ miles which is staggeringly boring and painful - two and three quarter hours worth!
Thank you.
Mar 2010: 16.5 miles done but can't imagine doing 10 more miles than that! Better find a way of imagining it pretty quick though - only a few weeks left. Some donors said they were happy to pay to witness the pain and I can safely say they will be more than satisfied.
21 Apr 2010 : Marathon run is all over for me. Picked up an injury 2 weeks ago and have now been signed off completely by the Doctor and treatment to follow!
Posted a pretty good time at the Reading Half Marathon and got up to 18.5 mile runs and then the wheels came off.
Planning on doing it again next year.
