Story

Back in November 2015 I was climbing at Malham Cove in North Yorkshire when i took a hefty fall and badly broke my foot.  Thanks to mountain rescue i was safely lowered down of the crag and carried to the ambulance.

The team were great and to help me overcome the pain were telling me jokes and just generally being really friendly.  Although they were calling me all sorts when they had to carry me through a river getting wet feet, sorry lads.

Thanks to their help I've had a slow but steady recovery.  As many of you know I'm fairly active so having to be on crutches for about 4 months and not being able to do any sport was pretty hard going for me.  Now the crutches have gone I've been slowly building my strength back and trying to make my skinnier than usual right leg come back to life.

To show my thanks to the great team I'm running the Great North Run this September and aiming to raise some cash.  All donations are greatly appreciated as Mountain rescue is mainly run by volunteers. The money will help the team continue to carry out rescues and be there if any of you end up in a situation like myself.

Cheers, Ollie
