Story

Hi all,

As some of you know we lost our wonderful Uncle Ollie in January of this year. Ollie was one of a kind. He was a patient, kind and talented man. we miss him terribly.

As a family we wanted to do something in his memory by coming together and celebrate his life.

This May 21st Ollie’s brother, cousins, nieces and nephews will run and walk the Ballina River Moy Half Marathon in aid of the Irish Kidney Association.

Ollie spent many years on dialysis due to a condition called Polycystic Kidneys. This is an inherited condition whereby large cysts grow on the kidneys and result in kidney failure over time. Two of Ollie’s sisters were fortunate enough to receive a kidney transplant.

The Irish Kidney Association felt like the perfect organisation to raise money for. They do amazing work in advocating for organ donation and to support patients and their families effected by late stage kidney disease.

We would appreciate any supports, donations, likes and shares.

We hope to make Ollie proud on May 21st!

Please spread the word and thank you for supporting us.

We work to meet the needs of people and their families living with and affected by end-stage kidney disease, on dialysis and post-transplant. From valuable donations and fundraisers we can provide services such as counselling, financial aid, the use of a patient support centre and patient holidays.
