Story
Collette Thain MBE has PBC. She started up the PBC Foundation in 1996 and has watched it steadily grow from a handful of people round a dining table to a truly international organisation which raises awareness, provides support, influences international opinion, advocates for its members and supports ethical research.
On 14th September, there are numerous events happening world-wide to raise awareness about PBC. Collette will be partaking in just one such event: this one!
Collette and long suffering riding partner, Steve Bates, will be cycling approximately 50 miles. Their route will incorporate Eddleston, a ride up the Meldons, Stobo on the way up to Dreva, after that steep part, back down to Broughton. Did anyone mention coffee and a scone? From Broughton on to Biggar, on then to Coulton then back to Broughton. More scones, per chance?? From there, they will circle round the local Botanics, back on the Stobo raod to the Meldons again for a huge cheer and some rehydration and carbs!!
And to think Collette was once debilitated by the fatigue associated with PBC.
