Event: Royal Parks Half Marathon 2022, on 9 October 2022
Charlotte, Duncan, Pam, Marcus, Aliya and Golnar are running a staggering 13.1 miles for the Royal Parks Half Marathon on the 9th October 2022. Your kind donations will ensure our abuse prevention programme reaches 500 young people across London.

Story

This is my view from a run today.  I’m grateful every day for the chance to do this  and also for being in a happy and safe relationship. Not everyone is.

Abuse and domestic violence have a devastating effect on the lives of around 2.3million people in the UK each year, with young people at the greatest risk of experiencing it - 1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men will experience an abusive relationship in their lifetime.

LMK is working tirelessly to change that.  LMK is a London-based education charity that runs workshops with schools, charities and community organisations teaching young people about the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationship behaviours, using the 10 Signs Framework.

In 4 weeks, I’m planning to run the Royal Parks Half.  I’ve not done a race since a solo lock down marathon nearly finished me off!  It would be easy but I feel  enormously privileged to have the chance to run in such a beautiful setting for such a fantastic cause.

If you have time, do please make a donation to allow LMK to continue their important work.

Thanks & love

Pam

At LMK we work with young people to teach them how to build positive, healthy relationships free from abuse. Through workshops, we offer a prevention programme where young people are taught to spot the warning signs of domestic violence and relationship abuse, using our 10 Signs framework.
